The Role of the Head of the Virtual Police Department VBBC Task Force,
In the city of virtual, the rate of crime has increased which has led the police department in the city to formulate a strategic action plan as well as a taskforce to destroy all the operation of what is popularly known as Very Bad Bike Club. The club consists of drug traffickers as well as juvenile gang. This has led to the formulation of the taskforce which is responsible to react to the pressures from the public, political and the community in general. As part of the task force, my position will be the head of Virtual Police Department VBBC Task Force.
The Virtual Police Department works in collaboration with the Virtual Commercial Merchant a company that hires Virtual, Security Force. The Virtual Security Force is a private company offering security services and equipment to its consumers. As any other police department, the virtual police department is responsible on all services conducted by other police departments. In all typical police departments, the Head of the Virtual Police Department holds the highest rank and overviews all the operations in the departments (Sponh and Tellis, 2012). Some of the roles and responsibilities of Head of the Virtual Police Department include directing other officers, planning and coordinating duties of all subordinates under him.
One of the core roles of the Head of the Virtual Police Department is to propose new policies in the department and amend existing ones. Heading the VBBC Task force will include to oversee all the operations and to be the head of all police units and other criminal justice department. Due to the persistent issues caused by the VBBC, as the head of the VBBC, it is my role to delegate all the tasks and allocate strategic and defined tasks to each department head.
In every position, a leader is bound to lead by example through exemplary leadership skills. Pearson-Goff and Herrington (2013). Heading the VBBC will first include an exploration of the core issue by identifying the gang, the root of the group, the society, factors that the gang shares, their hide-outs, their drug sources, finance resources, their drug and gun supplies and other factors related to this club. As identified earlier, attempts to jail the gang has not been fruitful as they have continued to supply drugs and operate while still in the jail. This is an indication that there is more than meets the eye as the gang has insiders in the policing department which is the reason they continue to operate while still in jail.
The first step will be problem identification of why the virtual police department has failed. This is the reason why professional integration carries the potential to the success of the task force. The virtual police department will continue to conduct their patrol but this time they will have to visit the areas at risk of these gangs including the commercial centres and the virtual malls. The head of VBBC will delegate what each partner is supposed to do. For example, including the virtual security force will ensure there will be enough surveillance machines and human power to vigilantly eliminate this gang from the city. This particular group will be employed in highly risky regions as they will have their surveillance cameras.
The VBBC inmates are accessing cells while in jails and they are not in a hurry to be released. This indicates that the group may be recruiting members and trafficking drugs in the jails. Hence, the taskforce will identify some of the strategies to employ to ensure this population lack internal and external communication. This can only be attained by secluding this group from others during entrance which will eliminate all the VBBC interaction with other inmates. This will hence reduce the communications and power among these groups. As the head of VBBC taskforce is to ensure that the police patrols work closely with the virtual security force. The offices will have the power to arrest anyone suspected or a member of the gang. After arresting, background check-ups will be conducted to identify any links the individual has with the leaders. The surveillance equipment will assist in providing information on areas that were inaccessible for the virtual police department.
As the head of the virtual police department VBBC taskforce, there will be regular meetings like twice in a week where the virtual police department will meet and discuss on challenges faced during the operations. During the meetings, the police will brainstorm on ways to ensure the challenges are solved. Therefore, it is my belief as the head of the task force that through collaboration, the Very Bad Bike Club in virtual city will be eliminated. It is evident that one department cannot beat the gang, but this taskforce will enhance togetherness including the community to eliminate the group. Therefore, as a head of virtual police department, I w will ensure that all members are determined to change by following the core vision of the strategy.
