GRAND NURSING THEORY

The development if nursing knowledge is indeed an ongoing process with numerous advantages to the health sector. Various theories from in scientific experts are put together to contribute to the growth of many occurring discoveries at the moment. The Grand theory gives a wide structure for addressing composite ideas and various concepts about nursing and how it impacts the society and help improve the health of people nationally.

The nursing Grand theory has aided nurses in understanding patients and their needs. Doing so have been greatly been achieved as the theory distinguishes nursing as a different discipline from separate from medicine and other related sciences careers (Smith, 2019). It has therefore boosted efficiency of nurses and their confidence in the specified discipline and encourages further understanding of the discipline.

The Nursing Grand theory guides and operate various researches related to the path of nursing. It has been made possible since the theories have comprehensive ideas that are often proposed by major thinkers and researchers in the field of nursing (Brandão, 2018). The Grand Nursing theories are often experiences from a theorists own experience hence further research conducted assist in formulating other forms of ideologies.

The Grand Nursing theory provides a foundation for clinical decision making. The latter is achieved due to the ability of the theory to guide and define nursing care and to provide solid resources supporting the operation about to be done (Smith, 2019). Despite most of the theories being around for hundreds of years, many are still useful in various healthcare facilities. The theories are based in broad, abstract and complex concepts with wide range of view and research.

The Grand theory however has progressively been outdated and its use diminishing more over time. As a result, other researches have been done with the new technology and new hypotheses formulated that are up to date (Wills, 2019). Various environmental factors have changed more over time and the organism functions have changed with the changes in climate and other ecological factors that have led to a lot of changes in the present day world.

In conclusion, it is evident that the Nursing Grand theory has impacted positively on the ongoing development and growth of nursing knowledge by conducting various research and providing a foundation for positive decision making on the results found. It has however been outdated over time due to the improved technology and improved research as the world keeps on changing with new things and environment.
