My Personal Leadership Philosophy

My leadership philosophy lies upon the qualities that I have learned through the lives of world leaders – both the weak and the strong. In my young life, I have learned that leadership entails listening with the intention to understand and not to answer, then making decisions, and standing by them regardless of the situation. It involves being transformational, having principles that guide one’s actions in the right path and having a clear picture of how the world should be. Leadership also entails having a formula of how to achieve the desired results. My leadership style is guided by virtue of ethics and democracy, and I value making consultations; hence, I emphasize the importance of co-operation and support. 

One of my most exceptional values is upholding integrity, for it defines who I am. I am an honest person and I prefer living in a way that parents can tell their children to emulate me as a role model. I enjoy setting goals in both small and big activities I engage in for they help in giving me direction and hence a purpose. I encourage teamwork in all activities because it motivates and inspires individuals to do more. I always enjoy doing my best in any task entrusted to me so that I can defend it should any need arise, and I thus, believe that such a character makes me accountable. I am a very keen listener who consults and analyses the possible impacts before making a decision. I place great value on hard work, trust, and credibility. I also believe that with proper communication with each other, the world can solve half its problems.   

My desired results and personal mission as a leader is to transform this world into what its creator wanted it to be – a peaceful environment full of individuals who work hard and share in their troubles to make everyone comfortable. I have always dreamt of being a leader of a place where there is no discrimination, no poverty, and no corruption, which is the mother of all evils in our society. When dealing with people, I always teach the importance of being honest and telling the truth in time. I encourage people to respect each other irrespective of age because it is only by giving that we receive.

I envision my leadership style as one that embraces democracy, equality, accountability, and integrity. Freedom gives everyone a chance to participate in building a better world (O’Hagan, 2010). Justice leads to fairness in a manner that no one feels sidelined. Finally, equality helps leaders to lead from within the team hence acts as a source of motivation. It allows members of an organization to identify with the leadership, thus enable the sharing of ideas and makes people work towards a common goal (O’Hagan, 2010). My style of leadership is one that recognizes the leader as the servant and not a symbol of authority. I do not accept disrespectful behavior, laziness, and the big-man syndrome. I also hate time wasting and in fact, my greatest regret is failing to prepare this personal leadership earlier. I adore statesmanship, commitment, and unity for they make the backbone of success.

I believe that with the virtues of honesty, accountability, and teamwork, I have what it takes to make a great leader who would deliver his people to greatness. My goal of transforming the world to greatness using whatever power, no matter how small accorded to me is my push factor. My style involves working together with people to main a single focus and achieve the desired results.
