If I Could Stop Time

If I could stop time, the first thing I would do is to travel the world. I am passionate about traveling and I would take this opportunity to go to the best travel destinations that the world has to offer. I would vacation in Africa and explore the jungle. My mornings would be spent watching serrated mountains that loom on the horizon. My days would be spent wandering around the savannah and forests, watching how the animals hunt to survive, and taking in the majesty and size of the trees, which stand proudly like fortresses. I would also travel to the Amazon and explore the uninhabited islands and the green vegetation. I would gaze at the undiscovered rivers winding their merry way throughout the forest. My next stop would be Asia and I would visit different communities and learn their rich cultural heritage while partaking in their diverse cuisines. These are some of the things in my bucket list, and I would patiently savor every moment in each destination while appreciating that time has stood still and I can live there forever. Traveling would free my mind and allow me to reflect on what to do next with all the time that I have. 

The second important thing I would do is to enhance my quality of life.  I would achieve this by avoiding all the stressful experiences associated with my hectic schedule and responsibilities. I would spend more time enjoying my hobbies and doing things that I love, which I have been ignoring due to time constraints. I remember as a young child growing up, I used to do many fun things with my family and those were the best years of my life.  I, therefore, need to recreate those pleasant memories, since I have the gift of stopping time. Some of the simple joys that people take for granted, such as taking time to cook delicious, mouth-watering, yummy, and healthy meals, would be in my control. I would also spend more time with my family members doing fun activities such as cookouts so that they know how much I love and treasure them. I have not seen many of my relatives who live far away from me, but if time stood still, I would visit every one of them, and share childhood memories, as well as, talk about how everyone is doing in life. 

The third important thing I would do is to advance my education and profession over a long period. If I could stop time, I would study at my own pace and earn a master’s degree in the fields I am passionate about. One of my greatest dreams is to empower myself through education and professional career so that I have resources and ability to help the marginalized people in my local community. Since I would have a lot of time in my hands, I would gain as much knowledge as possible that I can apply to society and better the lives of the people around me. I would use this knowledge to solve major global problems such as political conflicts, poverty, and inequalities in society, as well as, develop a cure for the most chronic illness. Moreover, I would ensure that my studies are less stressful as possible and I would take several hours to sleep each day while acknowledging that time is in my hands, and I have the freedom to do whatever I want. If I could stop time, I would perform these activities, and many more, to better my life and contribute to society by creating solutions to everyday challenges and empowering the marginalized groups and communities.
