Ethics in Business Setting

Ethical questions and issues have been present in many movies. One show that keeps on bringing up the issue of ethics and more so the ethical issues associated with space travel is the show Star Trek. In this show, Mr. Spock keeps on asking relevant questions on the morality of visiting a foreign land and disturbing the kind of environment found in such places. Mr. Spook also seems to question the real intention of visiting Planet Mars because he believes there is no value it will add to us here on earth (Crane & Matten, 2016).

These characters have an immense role to play in the issue of ethics. The main reason for this is that they have a very big influence on people, as millions of people watch them across the world and they can influence people to start thinking critically on the ethical issues they are discussing. Character and personal integrity play a very important role in my professional career and I believe I will hold on to these values as I go up the ladder at my workplace. My workstation involves dealing with valuable assets and sometimes I am entrusted to handle company money. This position brings about many temptations, but I have sailed through it because I have been able to resist any temptations that could lead me to steal from my company or acting in a way that can bring my employer and the company into disrepute. Behaving and acting in a manner that is irreproachable is one of the factors that have made it easy for my seniors, as well as, other workmates to trust and respect me (Crane & Matten, 2016). My intention is to behave like this for the rest of my professional life.
