Immigrants have always been an essential part of the demographics in the USA. Most of the people in the USA have had their roots in Europe, Africa, and South America (Schultz, 2002). However, this does not mean that they are not Americans; their ancestors might not have been originally from America, but as time went by and their lineages continued to grow, they were born as American (Schultz, 2002). In modern times, the issues surrounding migration into the USA has been susceptible, and governments have taken it up with a lot of concern. Most of the immigrants in the USA in recent times have originated from South America. Most of these immigrants cross the border illegally and acquire jobs that pay minimum wages to immigrants.

More often than not, these jobs involve construction work, farming, and factory work; the immigrants are usually willing to take up these jobs because they are in search of better lives and opportunities. They may have the necessary skill set to apply for better jobs, but they are not willing to sit around and wait. According to the statistics, 80% of the migrants are Hispanics and 90% of these are Mexican (Gonzalez, 2009). They usually are on farms because most of them cross the border and go into states such as Texas where farming is one of the economic strongholds of the country.

Most of the time these migrants can be seen almost everywhere and what attracts people to them is their hard work and dedication and also the fact that one can pay them less than their Caucasian counterpart for services such as cleaning, gardening, and plumbing among other services (Gonzalez, 2009). This does not mean that they can only do these jobs; some of them are established as doctors, engineers, and nurses among others. The migrants are typically found in these places because that is where they work.

They often live in areas where they are familiar with the people from their homeland, which is quite normal in society. The culture is likely to be the same in a neighborhood where people are of the same origin, rather than where they are of different origins (Tienda, 2013). Some of the migrants can barely speak a word of English and moving to an area where they can find fellow citizens are essential to them and their families and it also helps to curb the issue of culture shock among the migrants.

There have been various statistics that have been fine-tuned by the OECD based on the migration of persons. The USA is a unique country in regards to the arrival of migrant workers. Since the years of the World Wars, America has been a country that has attracted people to go and live in due to the peace and protection that the state provides to them and their families (Gutiérrez, 1995). America has been the place that most people want to live because of the liberties that one experiences and the freedom to live however they want, as compared to their countries of origin. This is one of the reasons why America has been seen as a unique arrival point for migrant workers. The availability of employment and jobs is also one of the causes of being a unique arrival point (Gonzalez, 2009). America does not only attract people with limited skill sets but also doctors, engineers, and other well-respected professions. This has been known to cause a lot of brain drain in developing countries because these jobs are well paying in the USA than in developing countries (Tienda, 2013). Therefore, people opt to move to the USA either legally or illegally, and having the proper skill set could be advantageous.

However, some countries seem to stand out more than the others do, as the company seems intent on entering into a market in a particular geographical area (Duncan, 2017).

This company has been able to create a diverse market base that makes them acceptable on a global level. Perhaps this has not always worked out positively for them. For instance, in 2018 the company came under criticism due to their vehicles being used by terrorist groups and militias around the world. However, they cannot be able to control such instances and they cannot compromise the quality of the products they manufacture by building cheap cars.


The issue of migration continues to be a topic of discussion mostly in developed countries where people prefer to move to improve their lives. Individual states have been in disagreement about persons migrating into their borders because an influx of these people could be very consequential to society in a number of ways. Notably, although there are specific measures that these states take, whether or not they work there is still the human aspect of people migrating, and that could be seen in terms of protection of life.
