JERROD MARTIN.

Mr. Jerrod “Matt” Martin of Baltimore, MD, passed away at the age of 23 on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Matt was born in Baltimore on November 17, 1996, to John and Carol Martins. He graduated from Fixie County High School in 2015, before joining college where he was pursuing his undergraduate degree until his untimely demise. He was a member of the Faith ministries from where he will be remembered as a good choir singer and an active participant in the church activities. He was also a member of the school football team, and his dream was to join the national team someday. His classmates will remember him as a jovial person who only spoke when he was needed to, but his ever-smiling face spoke enough for him.

Jerrod passed away after engaging in a head to head collision while training for the games in the school pitch. He was rushed to the county hospital since it was on the weekend and the school hospital was not in operation and was pronounced dead upon reaching the hospital. 

Matt was preceded in death by sister Tranice Martins. He lived with his parents in Baltimore. He was the last born of the four children of the Martins. His siblings are Theresa of Florida, Wright Peters of Gainesville and Hannah of Liverpool, UK.   A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 24 at the 3 pm at the St.Thomas Aquinas Funeral Home Chapel and will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 26.
