Summary: Coultas acknowledged that the U.S. officials are now in acceptance that lone wolf attackers pose a greater threat to internal security than major coordinated actions. To handle the problem, Coultas proposed crowdsourcing of information to identify and neutralize lone wolf terrorists. Through harnessing the power of U.S. citizens, Coultas expressed that subtle indicators of lone wolf attackers would be identified and, thus, help in preventing such attacks.
Assessment: Coultas is an officer in the U.S. Navy and has experience interacting with security problems. His article was a master’s thesis that attracted the attention of his seniors in the military, as well as, academic staff in the assessment of such works. As such, his study was conducted within the strict discipline of the military and also under the watchful eye of academia. The end results must be highly regarded.
Reflection: Coultas fits into my work as he expresses one major potential solution to the problem I am exploring. It is my intention to have the source incorporated in the background sections as well as in the findings section to compare and explain my findings.

2. Hamm, M.S. & Spaaij, R. The Age of Lone Wolf Terrorism. Columbia University Press. New York. (2017).
Summary: Hamm and Spaaij evaluate the evolution of the lone wolf using criminology theories and ethnographic research. The authors aim to identify the patterns of indoctrination.
Assessment: The book has been well researched and edited for publishing. The publisher is reputable and the authors have very impressive academic backgrounds in criminology, as well as, several publishing titles under their names. The authors are professors of criminology in reputable universities.
Reflection: The book will provide an important point of reference to the development of lone wolf terrorism across the paper.

Summary: Rubin evaluates two government agencies, which are embroiled in a tussle over gun research.
Assessment: The article has been published by a renowned author who uses verifiable statistics to develop his case. The Journal of American Medical Association is a credible journal that is strict with the quality of its development.
Reflection: The article is important in explaining the different antagonistic tendencies in government. Such antagonism hampers gun control. The article will be critical in the background and introduction parts, as well as, in the explanation of findings.

Summary: Thomas evaluates the interconnectedness of youth, terrorism and education among Britain’s young and minority Muslim youths. The article is evidently cashing in on the various explanations given by different groups of people on why some facets of the community will engage in terrorism.
Assessment: The article is very critical in its explanation of the different reasons as to why minority groups are interested in terrorism in Britain where their indiscriminate use of guns is unexplained. Britain is a developed country and faces the same kinds of challenges facing the U.S.
Reflection: Thomas will be important in the explanation of different scopes of why youths accept to join violent terrorism where gun misuse is rife. He will be useful in explaining the different reasons that lead youths to terrorism in the background of the paper.
5. Squires, Peter. Gun Culture or Gun Control? Firearms and Violence: Safety and Society. Routledge. (2012).
Summary: Squires explains how the shooting and killing of children in school led to the reform of gun laws in Britain. The book evaluates social and political reactions to gun misuse in Britain. It further evaluates the different policy adoptions in Britain and the U.S.
Assessment: The author is a prolific professor in the University of Brighton and has been studying gun and gun control for a considerable amount of time.
Reflection: Squires evaluates the different scope of gun control in two countries. The book is critical in the evaluation of different reactions in different societies. It will be applicable in the background of the study, as well as, in the evaluation of findings.

Reflection: This article is important to my argument because it opens up important reasons for the resistance offered by gun proponents. The article provides a counter argument into the subject of discussion that I will explore in my paper.

Assessment: The article has been written by a prominent journalist working in a reputable organization. It goes into great depths to evaluate gun violence research using verifiable claims. It has explored different actions of Senate and Congress in evaluating the different problems that have rocked the gun debate.
Reflection: The article is very instrumental in explaining the different dimensions that exist in the defense of gun control research prohibition by state organs. The article will be important in the evaluation of gun control procedures and attempts by the legislature and other government organs.

Summary: The NRA is the biggest opponent of gun control. The article gives a detailed explanation of the situation and why gun control should be an idea left alone. The article quotes different pieces of legislation to front the argument.
Assessment: NRA is a big organization with the means to lobby against gun control. The various arguments of the organization against gun control need to be evaluated to ensure that convincing responses are given to such arguments.
Reflection: The article by NRA opens the discussion into what the opponents of gun control have been using as their defense. The article will provide important points of argument across the entire paper.
